TAUNTON Town will be hoping to continue their fine form in the Evo-Stik Southern league when they entertain Stratford Town at Wordsworth Drive on Saturday (3pm).
Town are sitting pretty in second place, nine points adrift of leaders Merthyr, who have lost only twice this season.
However, Merthyr are coming into a tricky run of games over the next week. On Saturday, they visit eighth-placed North Leigh, then, on Tuesday, they travel across to Bridgwater Town, who are having an impressive season and always tough to beat at home.
Taunton will be hoping to take advantage of any slip-ups, although Saturday’s visitors, Stratford, have title aspirations themselves.
Should they beat Taunton, they will be on the same points with a game in hand in what is a very competitive top end of the league.
