Taunton Town have announced the appointment of Jaimie Carwardine as assistant manager to Leigh Robinson.

Carwardine was formerly assistant manager at Buckland Athletic in the SW Peninsula League for six years, during which time the Devon club won two league titles and four cups.

Work commitments saw him leave Buckland at the end of last season to move to Bristol and he was keen to grab the opportunity of working with Robinson following their former association in the SW Peninsula League.

Robinson said: "I am delighted to have Jaime working alongside me.

"As well as being a very engaging character, he brings a wealth of coaching experience and good player contacts. I am sure he will become a very popular member of the club."

Another new face joining the backroom team at Wordsworth Drive is match-day physio Stacey Endacott who has previously worked with Exeter City FC alongside her day job of physio at Devon and Exeter Hospital.

The Peacocks began pre-season training this week and the manager was pleased with the response.

Robinson said: "The first week has gone really well with 25 players at each session.

"We have a number of new signings in the pipeline as well as re-signing members of last year's squad, but we will not be announcing names until everything has been finalised.”
