KING'S College captain Ben Coomber scored four times to fire his side to a 4-1 victory over Sherborne last weekend.
The King’s side dominated the game and the four goals from captain Coomber could have been added to, if some of the numerous well-created chances had been finished more clinically.
The Second XI were involved in a very well-matched and competitive game. A first half long-range strike from Oliver Martin gave King’s a half time lead.
After the restart King’s were caught ball-watching and the game was levelled. However the hosts claimed the honours when Kazi Szymanski beat the advancing keeper to grab the winner.
King’s U15s enjoyed a strong opening 15 minutes in and built up a 2-0 lead with a very good finish from Siji Abere, followed by great combination with Gabe Mead switching the ball inch perfect into the feet of Angel Baselga Bustamante, who dribbled past three and calmly slotted the ball past the keeper.
A creative spark from Ollie Southon led to the third goal before he extended the lead with his second, with a chip over the on-rushing keeper and a simple tap in.
A comfortable 4-1 was turned into a nervy 4-3 in the final seconds but in the end King's held their nerve to run out the deserved 4-3 victors.
Chris Heayns, the Director of Football at King’s Schools said: “All three of the King’s teams played well and there were some impressive individual performances which helped to contribute to the team’s successes.”
