LAST Monday may have been one of the hottest days of the year but it didn’t stop King’s College football leaders taking on a ‘football mini marathon’ in support of TackleAfrica, a charity that works with HIV/AIDS in Africa through football.
The King’s pupils battled temperatures in excess of 30 degree playing various forms of football, ending with a round of Footgolf at Vivary Park Golf Course.
Chris Heayns, King’s director of football, said: “It was a tough challenge in normal temperatures, and in the current heatwave they were all outstanding.”
Jane Carter (TackleAfrica) said: “With King’s help, we can train more coaches to pass on messages of protection and empowerment.”
