MINEHEAD have three players on county duty this weekend when captain Mike Mullen, fellow defender Matt Cracknell and striker Aaron Deeks travel with the Somerset County League representative squad who meet a Devon side at Elmore.

All three have been key members of the successful side for the past three seasons. The remaining members of the first team squad travel to Shepton Mallet where they face their former Western League opponents’ reserve side in the second round of the Somerset County League Knock Out Cup.

The winners will be among the last 16 clubs in the competition.

Minehead Reserves are also in cup action with East Coker their opponents at Irnham Road for the second round of the Somerset Intermediate Cup.

Minehead finally lost their unbeaten tag in the Errea County league’s premier division on Saturday when they went down 3-2 at home to Weston St Johns.
