WELLINGTON AFC begin competitive action for the 2017/18 season this Saturday, against Hengrove in the FA Cup extra preliminary round.
The match (ko 3pm) is being played in Witheridge, as Wellington’s Playing Field ground is being used by the cricket club until September.
Richard Huish College was the venue for last night’s match with Somerset County League Premier Division champions Watchet Town, which finished 1-1.
Clive Jones’ Wellington side are likely to be without several key players, including Tim Legg (due to his commitment with Exeter City’s youth set-up), for the FA Cup tie.
The newly-promoted side play their first match in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division on Tuesday (August 8, ko 7.30pm), away to Buckland Athletic.
They then travel to Bradford Town on Saturday, August 12 (ko 3pm), before a trip to Wells City on Tuesday, August 15 (ko 7.30pm).
