Wellington AFC 2, Bitton 0

WELLINGTON celebrated victory in their final home game of the season on Saturday, as Sam Towler's double saw off visitors Bitton.

Bitton are battling it out for sixth place alongside Bridgwater Town and Shepton Mallet, but the Tangerines matched them in a goalless first half.

Towler broke the deadlock in the 50th minute with a well-struck effort, and their cause was helped further when the visitors' Josh Egan was sent off.

And the hosts wrapped it up in stoppage time, as Towler broke from the halfway line to net his second.

Wellington sit 14th in the Premier Division, well clear of the relegation zone, ahead of three games in six days.

On Thursday they travel to Brislington (ko 7.30pm), then to Hengrove Athletic on Saturday (ko 3pm), and to Longwell Green Sports next Tuesday (ko 7.30pm).

Bishops Lydeard 1, Corsham Town 2

BISHOPS Lydeard suffered a disappointing home loss on Saturday, as two goals in the last 10 minutes gave struggling Corsham Town the points.

The hosts were ahead on nine minutes, as James Quick drove across the goalkeeper and into the net, but they missed good chances to extend their lead.

And they were punished after the break, as the visitors drew level on 81 minutes - Chay Forrester put through to score.

And it got worse for Lydeard in injury time, as Matt Purdy netted from close range.

The result leaves Lydeard 12th in the standings, and on Thursday they travel to Cheddar (ko 7.45pm).

Then, on Saturday, they are away to Devizes Town (ko 3pm).
