JAMES Regan (46no) and Keith Parsons (24no) helped Taunton St Andrew's to a comfortable seven-wicket victory over relegation-doomed Ilminster on Saturday in Premier One of the West of England League.

Ilminster won the toss at the Wyvern Club and elected to bat and Saints soon got in among the wickets.

The visitors were always going to be struggling for runs once dangermen Louis Kraucamp and skipper Sam Spurway back in the hutch for 18 and eight respectively.

A knock of 22no by number ten James Thompson saw Ilminster to 111 all out.

Star of the show with the ball for Saints was Jacob Lintott who took an excellent 5-14 from 7.2 overs as he mopped up the Ilminster tail.

Saints' top order batsmen - Martin Jenkins, Jacob Lintott and J. Avendano - all went cheaply in reply to suggest that perhaps Ilminster could gain their first win of the summer.

But no such luck for Spurway's side. Number four Regan and number five Parsons steadied the Saints' ship and steered the side home to a comfortable victory with Regan undefeated just four runs short of his half-century.
