SOMERSET County Cricket Club talent Tom Lammonby has suffered the heartache of missing the Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand due to injury.
The 17-year-old batsman broke his hand in training, and so he has been sent home, with Surrey's Euan Woods called up to the England squad as his replacement.
DISAPPOINTMENT: Tom Lammonby wishes England good luck in his Instagram post.
Lammonby's Somerset team-mates Tom Banton and Fin Trenouth remain in the squad, with England beginning their World Cup campaign against Namibia on Monday, January 15.
Trenouth impressed by hitting 73 off just 41 balls in their warm-up match against Ireland earlier this week.
