OAKE Manor are preparing to offer free membership for juniors.

From April 2015 any child under the age of 18 is welcome to become a member of Oake Manor and enjoy everything it has to offer at no charge. Golf manager Russell Gardner said: “We are serious about making golf fun for children and want to open our doors to next Rory or Tiger. “If you come along to our Open Day on Sunday, September 21 and sign up on the day you will have nothing to pay and would be a member from then on until April 2016.

Oake Manor already runs a successful junior academy offering group lessons on both a Saturday and a Sunday and on occasions there is a waiting list to sign the child up to coaching.

Head professional James Smallacombe said: “We try to make golf fun, exciting and accessible to all.

“We offer inexpensive lessons and now our new junior membership will echo our ethos on junior golf.

“There has also be a huge push in beginner junior golf with the six junior camps and fun days spread throughout the year spearheaded by Lewis Hanney and Alex Munro with more ideas and exciting news on the horizon.

“There is already a large number booked in for their Halloween Fun Day on Friday, October 31.”
