A TOTAL of 42 Taunton and Pickeridge Ladies took part in the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Medal played in beautiful autumnal sunshine.

The battle for the places in Silver Division was fiercely contested at three players returned to the clubhouse with nett 73.

However, following countback it was the in-form Ladies vice-captain Carolyn Stait who took first place, Louise Worth was second and Fiona Lovell third.

In the Bronze Division it was Chris Maltby who claimed the honours with 69, one in front of second placed Susan Gawne-Cain with 70.

Heather Crump was third with 71, Gill Jowett was fourth on 73 and Jeanne Leader fifth with 74.

Twos were carded during the round by Jacky Ford, Ali McGown, Rosie Spragg, Jane Ledsham and Margaret Farley The winner of the LGU Breakthrough Breast Cancer Brooch was Chrys Maltby.

The top division in Saturday’s Stableford was won by Mike Willett with 40 points, on countback ahead of Stuart Sully who returned with the same score while Pat Jones was third with 39.

Matt Gray headed Division Two with 41 points, two ahead of second placed Jon White with 39, with Dennis Breakwell third with 37.

The third flight was won by Lee Tomkins with 37 points, John Delacherie was second with 33 and Colin Gudge third on 32.

The Midweek medal was won by Nick Lake with net 67, Jamie Tong was second with 68 and Ian Thresher third with 70.
