PUNTERS have another exciting afternoon’s action to look forward to next Thursday (November 13) when Taunton host their second meeting with more than £40,000 up for grabs in prize money.

The first of the seven races on the card, the Winning Post Real Ale Handicap Hurdle over 3m is the longest of the day and is due off at 1.10pm.

The most valuable race of the day is the Happy Birthday Doreen Fussell Novices’ Limited Handicap Steeple Chase over 2m 7f which has a prize pot of £10,000 on offer and is due to post at 2.10pm.

Half an hour later the SIS Novices’ Hurdle Race over 2m 1f is a Class 3 event with £8,300 available in prizes.

The Clarke Willmott Handicap Hurdle race over 2m 1f is due off at 3.10pm and followed by the Somerset County Gazette Handicap Steeple Chase, over half a furlong short of 3m, 30 minutes later.

Taunton Racecourse has welcomed back west country solicitors Clarke Willmott, members of the Racecourse Business Club, and the Somerset County Gazette who are all regular supporters.

The afternoon concludes at 4.10pm with the At the Races Sky 415 Maiden Open National Hunt Flat Race over 2m 1f.

It picks up at the bus station on Castle Green shortly afterwards and returns from the course 30 minutes after the start of the last race.
