QUEEN’S College 1st XI have enjoyed a hugely successful season.

They were crowned West of England Champions, beating Millfield in the final, and won the prestigious Sherborne Tournament. Their impressive season included, 7-0 victories over Wycliffe and King’s College and 6-0 victories over Bristol Grammar School, Truro College and Downside School.

The girls scored a superb 89 goals and conceded only 16 in their 30 games.

On top of this they beat local rivals Taunton School 3-0 and Millfield 3-2.

Livvy Hoskins and Katy Cross are the top goal scorers for Queen’s, both having scored 17 goals this term.

They will however have a chance to improve on this outside the regular season.

As champions of the West, the girls have qualified to play in the national finals on February 24 and 25.

They will travel to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London to compete against seven other teams in a bid to become national champions.

Laura Fry has been selected for the U-18 England squad and Livvy Hoskins and Rebecca Handford have attended the high performance assessment camp. In addition, five players have played for the Wessex Leopards. Head of hockey at Queen’s College, Ian Haley, said: “Hockey at Queen’s College is on a real high at the moment and we are achieving great success at all levels.”
