ONLY three of Galmington’s teams were in action in the latest round of matches with two of them meeting each other.

Parkfield continued their improved Division One form with an excellent win over Bishops from Wells at the Vale.

Parkfield dominated the early exchanges, completely controlling the first quarter to build a commanding 15-3 lead.

The next two quarters were rather more evenly matched as Bishops came more into the game but Parkfield were still comfortably 29-15 ahead going into the last period.

With Ffion Watkins having a fine match in defence, taking num-erous interceptions and combining well with Abbie Barker and Kate Northcott to make a strong defensive unit, Bishops’ attack had little joy and Parkfield recorded an impressive 39-18 victory.

In Division Three Newbarn and Comeytrowe met each other and it was Newbarn who began the better taking a 9-5 first quarter lead.

However, Comeytrowe responded well with goal attack Lucy Hemmings shooting accurately and they only trailed 17-15 at half-time.

Newbarn worked well as a team in the second half with Freya Deeley controlling the centre court and they pulled away again despite a good defensive performance from Comeytrowe’s Natasha Snow to win a well-contested match by 38 goals to 25.
