THE third event in the Quantock Orienteers After Dark (QOAD) series was held at Culm Davy on the Blackdown Hills on Saturday.
It followed the family-focussed Junior Orienteering Group event. The close competition between the leaders Ifor Powell and Matthew Owen from Bristol and William Kromhaut from Quan-tock Orienteers continued with all three visiting the 20 control points within the hour allowed and Powell winning by an 18 second margin. With two events left – on the February 7 and 28 – the current leader in the series, Richard Sans-bury, will need maximum points from one of these to win.
The main event of the QO season will be in Ramscombe in the Quantocks on Sunday, February 1.
Details are on the QO website or can be obtained from Steve Robertson on 01823- 430071.
