NEW local running group, The Peacock Firm, were represented by ten runners at Longrun meadow parkrun when Sam White led the way in third place with a time of 18m 41s.

Marcus Albano was close behind in sixth with a time of 18m 59s.

Other finishers were Finlay Price (16th in 20m 03s), Craig Whitemore (17th with a PB of 20m 04s), Andy White 20th in 20m 55s, Barry Holder 36th in 22m 25s, Guy Price 52nd in 23m 52s, Michael Styles, 90th in 26m 30s, Rachael Curry 105th in 27m 24s and Harriet Manning, 125th in 28m 56s.

Further afield Dan West and Lucy White competed in the Eastbourne Parkrun with West coming in with a time of 21m 42s in 17th and White recording a best in 58th with a time of 25m 12s.

The duo also ran the Eastbourne Half Marathon the next day and recorded times of 1hr 15m 12s and 2hr 10m 26s respectively.

A total of 215 runners took part in the Parkrun.

Gill Taunton, mother of regular winner, celebrated her 50th parkrun along with Pat Date.

Hannay was once again the female winner ini 19m 37s.

With Pam Hudd coming second in 23m 17s and Helena Patton of DSRA taking third place in 23m 52m.

Saturday also marked the tenth anniversary of regular parkrunner Graham Foster’s quadruple heart bypass. Foster has completed 34 parkruns, all at Longrun Meadow, and has a best of 23m 51s but generally takes it a bit slower, encouraging grandson Sully Cooling, round the course.

A total of 38 pbs were recorded today including Vicky Ryder 29m 41s, Joe Wharton 21m 09s, Richard Westgate 22m 38s, Ola Timpson 28m 54s, Simon Hiscock 23m 37s, Louise Coppin 34m 39s, Louise Bartlett 33m 20s, Jo Pearson 32m 49s, Finbarr O’Mahony 24m 31s, James Whitbread 25m 41s, Craig Whitemore 20m 04s, Kate Howarth 28m 33s, Tim Norris 22m 46s, Rhys White 35m 47s, Lindsey Haigh 43m 00s, Nicola Pearson 27m 34s, Becca Holder 32m 05s, Richard Matravers 18m 51s, Harrison Eiserbeck 28m 23s, Jesnny Sanderson 26m 01s, Thomas Hasler 26m 45s and Isabelle Priddle 33m 05s.

n Phil Burden of Taunton AC ran the Bath Half Marathon in 1hr 14m 31s while clubmate James Watson timed 1hr 14m 40s.

At the England National cross country championships at Parliament Hill in London Naomi Taschimowitz, on her way back from long term injury, came a very creditable 14th place in 32m 15s.

At the Weston Prom 5 miler TAC fielded Nick Daniels 30m 34s, Liz Taschimowitz 37m 59s, and Rowland Lyons in 40m 05s.

n Lyons is also a member of Hydro Harriers who had three other runners taking part.

A moderately chill wind greeted the 235 competitors on the seafront.

Mark Foss, running a highly strategic race with a fast-paced 1st and 5th mile, was first Harrier back, crossing the line in 32m 14s (47th), which was a well-earned PB. Chris Jones also achieved a PB running completely evenly-paced splits to finish in 54th place (32m 39s).

After Lyons, came James Wright completed the line-up, running a comfortable race to finish in 179th in 41m 37s.
