THREE dedicated swimmers at Taunton School have achieved times, in a variety of events, which have ranked them within the top 20 in the country for their age group.

For Emily Yap and Alicia Gallagher this has resulted in qualifying for this year’s British Championships taking place in London.

A brilliant achievement in itself, this also pro vides the swimmers with a serious chance of making the British team to compete internationally in the future.

The girls competed alongside Taunton School student Robyn Edwards earlier this month in the Aquae Sulis meet at Hengrove.

Having already qualified, Emily and Alicia were swimming for race practice while Robyn fought on fiercely.

Robyn is one of the youngest in her age category making this a greater challenge and, although unable to qualify, on this occasion she achieved a personal best in the 200m back at the event.
