TAUNTON racegoers have three meetings to look forward to this month - the first coming up tomorrow when the Orchard Portman course hosts the popular Landlords Day.

The first of the seven races on the card goes to post at 2.20pm.

The penultimate race will be named after the local hostelry that brings along the most racegoers.

With a more-than generous £36,500 on the table in prize money, another exciting afternoon of National Hunt racing looks to be in store.

First up is the Red Berry Recruitment Ltd Handicap Hurdle race over 3m ½f.

Next off at 2.50pm is the Bathwick Tyres Taunton Fillies’ Juvenile Hurdle Race over 2m 1f which is followed half an hour later by the SIS Handicap Hurdle race over the same distance.

The feature race on the card is the Bathwick Tyres Handicap Steeple Chase, a Class 3 event, at 3.50pm, which is run over 3m 5f and boasts total prize money of £10,000.

The Evergreen Landscaping and Tree Surgery Handicap Hurdle race over 2m 3½f follows at 4.20pm.

The second event over the jumps course is a handicap chase at 4.50pm that will be named after the winning local hostelry is announced.

The afternoon concludes with the Chepstow Racecourse Staff Away Day Mares’ Standard Open National Hunt Flat race at 5.20pm.
