HUISH men’s first team reached the national final of the Association of Colleges Cup with victory at Taunton Vale last Wed-nesday.
Huish, who were beaten at the semi-final stage last year, were matched with Peter Symmonds College from Winchester.
The visitors were forced to camp in their own half in the first period as Oscar Harrington kept them under pressure with a series of aerials into the D.
Adam Miller came close to opening the scoring in the 37th minute with a reverse cross-goal strike which evaded all the oncoming players.
Then in the 46th minute Max Beale scored the only goal of the game with a flick from the middle of the D to send Huish into the final.
Central midfielder Mich-ael Maxwell said: “The boys put maximum effort into the game and got the deserved result which was much-needed after last year’s disappointment.”
