TWELVE Peacock Firm runners completed the Longrun Meadow Parkrun on Saturday with three runners gaining personal bests.

Lucy White, fresh from her parkrun travels in Bournemouth and Eastbourne, returned home and ran a best of 25m 04s.

Craig Whitemore obtained his third PB in as many weeks, coming in 15th in a time of 19m 50s while Andrew Hanson finished eighth in a best of 19m 08s.

The rest of the team ran well with club captain Sam White finishing fourth in 18m 37s. Other placings: Marcus Albano 7th in 19m 03s, Finlay Price 13th in 19m 49s, Andy White 20th in 20m 49s, Andy Buswell – still recovering from a lengthy injury – 34th in 22m 23s, Barry Holder 40th in 22m 43s, Emily White 143rd in 28m 51s, Guy Price 150th in 29m 04s and Michael Styles 152nd in 29m 10s.

Further afield in Eastbourne, Dan West’s training is paying dividends resulting in yet another PB in a time of 21m 31s.

The Peacock Firm now occupy six places out of the top ten in the male points table and are aiming to take the top three by October. The first lady home was again Hannah Taunton of Taunton AC in a best of 18m 46s. She has now finished first in 38 out of 53 runs. Second lady home was Caroline Norris who finished in 20m 50s with Sam Wharton of Running Forever RC third in 21m 30s.

First local man to finish – in second place – was Dan Clarke of Taunton AC in 16m 51s with Ian Elliott of Running Forever taking third place with a best of 18m 10s.

Rowland Lyons was the sole Hydro Harrier in Parkrun action last Saturday.

Competing in the Barking event he finished in 26th place, from a field of 74 runners, in 24m 36s.
