DAVID Blair, with 40 points, was the winner in the top division of Taunton & Pickeridge's Stableford last weekend.

He finished one better than second-placed Alfie Jubb, a junior member, who edged in front of third-placed Steve Sloman on countback after both scored 39.

Gary Nightingill headed the second flight with 40 points, Danny Sams was second with 39 points and Pete Barton third with 36.

Sunday’s Stableford was won by Martin Evans with 40 points but, following a two-way tie on 37 points, it was Steve Sloman who was second and Mervyn Roach third after countback.

On Tuesday, T&P Ladies' Section played a 12-hole Stableford, at the end of which three players returned with 24 points.

After countback, Ali McGown was first, Emilia O’Boyle second and Patsy Morgan third, while Judy Powell was fourth on 23.

The only two during the round was by Patsy Morgan at the 10th hole.

The Taunton & Pickeridge Golf Club Junior section have taken delivery of their new shirts sponsored by My Day services, which is owned by Lucy and Mark Durman whose son, Monty, plays with the juniors.
