TAUNTON host their hugely popular New Year’s Race meeting tomorrow (December 30) with a seven-race card which includes a Class One event with a very generous prize pot of £78,500.

This tends to be the Orchard Portman’s best-attended meeting of the year so visitors should allow lots of time ahead of the first race at 1pm.

The toteplacepot Six Places in Six Races Conditional Jockey’s Handicap Hurdle gets things started, over two miles and three furlongs; this race has a cool £10k up for grabs.

Next up, half an hour later, is The @totepoolracing For All Your Racing Needs Handicap Hurdle (three miles), which is the longest race of the day.

Another £10k race, The totepool Live Info Download our App Novices Handicap Hurdle, follows at 2pm over two miles and three furlongs.

Next to post is The Racing Welfare Steeple Chase (a Novices’ Limited Handicap) which has a prize fund of £11.5k on offer.

At 3pm it’s the totepool Chip & Pin Betting Mares’ Handicap Novices’ Hurdle, a Class One event over two miles and half a furlong, with prizes worth £20,000.

The Happy New Year From totepool Handicap Hurdle brings the curtain down at 4pm.
