TAUNTON Panthers travelled to Exeter on Sunday to compete in the Exeter & Devon League Cup, and came away with the trophy.

After topping the group stage standings, winning five matches out of five, Panthers battled hard to take victory in a closely-fought semi-final.

The final went more smoothly for Panthers, as they showed why they are favourites to win the league this year with a superb team performance and clinical finishing, to be crowned 2017 cup winners.

Taunton Panthers do not have a Somerset league to play in, and so they travel to Exeter and Plymouth for all their away matches.

Home matches are played at Heathfield Community School, Taunton.

In Exeter & District Division 1 action, Panthers won their last match on Friday against contenders EVWC Cardinals, and with only one defeat they are in second place in the table, with a game in hand on leaders PMVC Pirates.

A league win can be worth seven points, and Panthers play their final – and potentially decisive – game of their EDVA Division 1 season against PMVC Pirates, away at Plymstock School on Sunday, April 23.
