TAUNTON Racecourse hold the second of three meetings this month on March 20, with a six-race card that has a generous £44k on offer in prize money.

The management at Taunton are very grateful to Bathwick Tyres, who have sponsored this meeting and continue to support racing across the South West.

First up is the Bathwick Tyres Yeovil ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle race over two miles and three furlongs that goes to post at 2.20pm, which is followed 30 minutes later by the Bathwick Tyres Bridgwater Novices’ Hurdle over two miles and half a furlong.

The big race of the day is the Bathwick Tyres Handicap Steeple Chase, a Class 3 event, over two miles and two furlongs, at 3.20pm, which carries a total prize fund of £11,000.

A second Class 3 race follows when the Bathwick Tyres Bath Handicap Hurdle over two miles and half a furlong is due off half an hour later.

The penultimate race on the card is the Bathwick Tyres Taunton Handicap Steeple Chase over two miles at 4.20pm.

The curtain comes down with the Bathwick Tyres Midsomer Norton Handicap Hurdle race over three miles, the longest of the day.

Racegoers are reminded that discounts of up to 20 per cent can be obtained by booking tickets online in advance, before 10am on the day prior to racing.
