Regional League Division One
Galmington 45, Plymouth Pilgrims 36

GALMINGTON made an explosive start as they dominated the first quarter.

Goal defence Kirsty Mitchell was in superb form taking numerous interceptions as Galmington built a 13-5 lead.

Plymouth responded well in the next period to reduce the arrears and Galmington only led 21-18 at half time.

The home side needed to start the third quarter well to put a stop to Plymouth’s reply and they did just that to open up a 33-25 lead.

Galmington continued to play excellent netball in the final period to secure a well-deserved 45-36 victory.

Division Two
Trident 38, Crossbow 35

A CLOSE first quarter ended with Trident 10-8 behind.

The teams were trading goals in the second period but Trident managed to level to score to reach half-time at 17-17.

Jaz Chester was magnificent in defence, taking numerous interceptions, whilst at the other end the attack took advantage of the possession.

As a result Trident went ahead and held on for a superb victory.

Somerset League Premier Division
Tomahawks 40, Hovelands 40

Hovelands responded brilliantly and they themselves went six goals ahead in the last quarter only for Tomahawks to claw their way back to snatch a draw.

Somerset League Division One
Vipers 41, Parkfield 37

PARKFIELD played Paulton’s Vipers and held a slender 10-9 first quarter lead only for Vipers to come back strongly to finish the first half 22-18 ahead.

It was goal for goal for the rest of the match, but Vipers resisted the pressure to take the match 41-37.

Somerset League Division Three
Spears 41, Queensway 24

QUEENSWAY were playing what was effectively a Division Three title decider with both teams clear at the top.

It was Spears who quickly took the initiative to build an 11-4 lead which they extended to 18-9 at half time, and Queensway couldn’t make any inroads and slipped to a 41-24 defeat.

Somerset League Division Four
Arrows 48, Newbarn 37

A YOUNG Newbarn team found themselves 10-8 adrift but excellent defending from Hannah Squire saw them draw level 17-17 at half-time.

Arrows went into the final period 33-30 in front and the match very much in the balance, but it was the home side who proved the stronger and they pulled away to win 48-37.

GALMINGTON’s youngsters made it four wins out of five with a fine win over Keinton.
