WHIRLWINDS trampoline and DMT club’s elite team, Ella Hooper Bleeks, Liam Isaac, Lucinda Parr and Isaac Turner, competed at the double mini trampoline last weekend in Liverpool’s Echo Arena at the 2017 British Championships, the biggest competition of the season.

After an exciting first day, all the team made it through to the finals on Sunday.

Hooper Bleeks was comfortably in first place after two excellent passes and held her form beautifully for the final, cementing her first position and earning her a gold medal and the title of British Champion.

Parr, Isaac and Turner all performed excellent routines and all achieved fourth place in their groups, narrowly missing medals.

Hooper Bleeks and Parr earned high enough scores to earn their place in the world age group championships (the highest level they can achieve at their age) which runs alongside the world championships in Bulgaria this coming November.

Head coach Jason Richardson was thrilled with the result, and said: “The team were a credit to the club; they all performed fantastic passes with stiff competition and under huge pressure.

“I am very proud of them all.”

Whirlwinds has thriving double mini trampoline sessions which run from the Bridgwater & Taunton College campus in Taunton.
