TAUNTON Junior Volleyball top the South West League table after their stunning win against Bristol and the previously undefeated team from Exeter, Torexe.
On Sunday, January 7 at Richard Huish College, Taunton convincingly beat Bristol Ladies 3 in three straight sets.
Then, in the next match, they hoped to steal at least one set off Torexe.
The confident team of adults from Exeter went two sets up, but Taunton turned the match around in dramatic fashion as they elevated their game to another level.
They hit back to win the next two sets, and then the deciding fifth set.
This was fitting reward for an amazing display of skill, determination and will to win from the group of teenagers.
Their next competition is the second round of the Under-16 National Cup competition on January 20, again at Richard Huish.
They face Beach Academy, Wessex and Bishop of Llandaff High School, with an 11.30am start.
The club are always looking for new players, and they train on Tuesday evenings, 5pm-7.30pm, at Wellsprings Leisure Centre (adults train from 7.30pm-9pm).
