RUNNING Forever members were delighted to see the return of spring weather and set off in search of medal opportunities.

Damon Butler and Malcolm Hutchings travelled to Shropshire to take part in the Ironbridge Half, both completing it in 2.20.

Three members went off to the Capital for the inaugural London Landmarks Half which promised 13.1 miles of entertainment and built-in sightseeing.

Trevor Stow recorded a time of 1.49, Marina Tomsett and Helen Phillips took time to meet Pearly Queens and a few Chelsea Pensioners along the way before crossing the line in 2.20.

Will Hamilton (1.34), Ray Tutton (1.37) and Lucy Spring (2.13 and a PB) really enjoyed the Yeovil Half Marathon.

Ben Timpson finish 15th in the Butleigh 10K with a time of 48.36.

Val Perigo was back in Cheshire for the Poynton 10K, finishing in exactly 60 minutes.

Keith Thompson took part in the Devonshire Dumpling Marathon, completing in 5.15, while Gavin Clegg competed in the Eastleigh Relay in Hampshire.

Ian Elliot was racing in the Scottish national road relay championships.

Parkrun tourists made their way to, Minehead, Killerton, Wyre, Burnham and Exmouth.

Nineteen members took the local option at Longrun Meadow with PBs for Darren Purchase and Luke Thorne.

TAUNTON AC runners were back on the roads at the weekend.

Three members travelled to Quedgeley for the Gloucester 20-miler and Keith Paul was the first V50 runner home in 2.16.11.

Kim Hill was second V35 in a time of 2.23.09 while Jon Gilling finished in 2.14.00.

James Watson and Phil Burden travelled over the bridge to take part in the Cardiff Bay 10k.

Watson crossed the line in 32.25, while Burden was a minute later.

Butleigh was the destination for Ellie Steer and Suzi Griffiths for the 10k event and Steer was second lady to cross the finishing line.

Zeke Rawlins took on the Yeovil Half-marathon course and came home in 1.43.12.

FOUR Hydro Harriers were in action at the 5-mile Weston Prom 7th run in the nine-race series.

Mark Foss proved too strong for Ian Salter in the end, taking top Hydro spot and 58th overall (from 288) in 32m 47s.

Salter had to make do with 65th (33m 7s).

Rowland Lyons crossed in 40m 50s (202nd) with James Wright making up the team effort in 226th (43m 45s).

Despite running the Weston Prom race barely 50 hours beforehand, Rowland Lyons recovered to finish Valentine’s (Ilford) Parkrun last Saturday, in 24mins 44secs - 42nd from 176 runners.

Similarly, another Weston survivor, James Wright, completed only his ninth ever Parkrun, at Swindon, in 26.59, 155th out of 393 finishers.

Hydro Harrier Charlotte Norman continued her London Marathon training by completing the Leeds-Liverpool Canter Half Marathon last Sunday, in a time of 2h 14m.
