BOWLS: Narrow win for Watchet in friendly
WATCHET managed to scrape a win by three shots in a rain-affected friendly against Victoria Park, Bridgwater, on Saturday.
Scores: S Bryant, M Vincent, J Hooper and N Webber won 13-12; L Steel, D Talling, J Smith and M Webber won 13-7; G Perkins, P Edwards, G Merson and J Groves tied 10-10; P Binding, C Bendle, C Simcock and C Williams lost 9-13.
In a four rink friendly at Wellington on Sunday Watchet lost by 34 shots. Scores: G Perkins, D Gwyer, N Wilkinson and C Simcock lost 16-26; A McKay, R Warren, P Christopher and N Savage lost 13-20; L Talling, E Owen, M Binding and J Hooper lost 20-21; A Binding, R McKay, A Knight and F Warren lost 10-30.
