LUCY Shuker heads to this week's French Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships near Paris on the back of victory in the Slovakia Open for the second successive year.

After starting the week by having her selection for her second successive Paralympic Games confirmed, the British No1 flew to Trnava, where she secured a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Mieke van Chastelet of the Netherlands in her opening match.

Shuker then completed a successful title defence by defeating Austria's Brigitte Seyer 6-0, 6-0 in her last match.

However, it was the second of her three round-robin matches that proved crucial to Shuker's title ambitions as she edged out the first of two successive Austrian opponents, world No2 Henriett Koosz, 6-4, 7-5.
