MINEHEAD Barbarians are hosting their annual Tigers Challenge this weekend – a professionally organized two day festival supported by Leicester Tigers – which brings young players from six to 16 from all over the UK together for a superb weekend of rugby.

Last year over 5,000 people participated in the Tigers Challenge festivals and they were sold out within two months of launching.

Following the huge demand and fantastic feedback from the participating clubs, Minehead Barbarians are delighted that the organisers have extended the Tigers Challenge to enable more teams to take part in 2013 and the club will be hosting an extra weekend this year on May 4 and 5.

Minehead Barbarians will be represented across the age groups while the visiting teams stay at Butlin’s.

The teams are transported to the venues by bus but are free to enjoy the on-site facilities and entertainment when they are not playing rugby.

Celebrity presentation ceremonies are the highlight of the weekend for many of the teams. Special guests at the 2012 Tigers Challenge included Tigers legend Freddie Tuilagi, future star Tom Armes, and England hooker George Chuter.

Visitors are welcome to go along to the club to watch the rugby and enjoy the atmosphere and hospitality.

Barbarians clubhouse and bar is open all weekend and a selection of hot and cold food is available.
