Minehead Barbarians Under-10s played host to both North Petherton and South Molton on Sunday.
The first game saw Minehead facing North Petherton and the hosts opened the scoring with a Finn Reeson try. The second try came to Edward Francis who used a long break to switch the play across the pitch and run in a very good score. North Petherton soon struck back with a try. With half time approaching, Reeson scored another for the home team closely followed by a second score to the visitors which left the first half at three tries to two.
The second half opened with outstanding play from Harry Hirst and Harvey Liddle as both teams produced some excellent rugby. The deadlock was broken when Hirst scored for Minehead who held on to win.
Next up were South Molton and tries came quickly in an opening rush from both sides with a much more open game than the first had been. Peters and Jake Metcalfe scored tries for Minehead as the sides exchanged scores. Then the home side pulled away as Liddle,Hirst (2), and Calladine dotted down. After the break Calladine scored another three tries and Liddle one as Minehead won with ease.
Man-of-the-match was Jacob Peters.
