Minehead Under-8s also travelled to Taunton with two teams set to play two games each.

Oliver Greenway, William Walsh and Ellis Forman scored in a 30-20 win in the first game for the first team and in the second they won 55-50. Greenway scored five tries, Walsh two and Toby How, Forman and Lawrence Priest also scored. The next team to play Taunton was led by Emily Willis. Taylor Howen, Alfie Chapman and Finley Forman scored first half tries to make it 15-15 at the break before Minehead finally succumbed in the second half to lose 40-35. Chapman and Forman both scored twice and Howen scored the final try of the game.

Minehead got their revenge in the second game when they won 45-30 with tries from Howen, Forman, Tegan Cherry and Willis.

Minehead’s Under-7s also played Taunton and recorded a draw and three losses, although all were by narrow margins.

Isaac Sweetland, Lawrence Sandy, Henry Murrell, Aiden Gallagher, Oliver Bretherton and Obi Cridland scored tries for Minehead.
