Minehead Barbarians director of rugby Andrew Stevens was left very disappointed with his side’s Somerset Premier defeat at Avon on Saturday.
The Baba’s had chances to win the game but went down to a 20-19 defeat, leaving them fifth in the division.
Stevens said: “We can only blame ourselves, we had our opportunities but weren’t clinical and didn’t take them.”
Minehead don’t have a game this week and their next chance to make amends will be when they face second placed Chard at home a week on Saturday.
Minehead drew with the promotion chasers earlier in the season and will be hoping to better that result. Stevens said: “That was probably one of our best performances at Chard and I just hope the lads can match that a week on Saturday.
“Having a week off could leave us rusty but we also have a few players carrying injuries that will get a chance to heal.”
