HEAD Coach Tony Yapp has spoken of his pleasure with the Titans performance against Exmouth on Saturday.

The Titans recorded their first league win of the season in some style as they blew away their visitors, particularly in the first half, to the delight of the home crowd at Hyde Park.

Yapp said: “Obviously I’m very pleased with the result, and there were some outstanding performances during the game.

“I thought we started well and our proficiency at the breakdown was far better than the week before, resulting in us getting quicker ball and reducing the amount of penalties we gave away.

‘With ball in hand we were a lot more direct, and again our accuracy of pass was a lot sharper.

“It was good to see us happy to go through lots of phases and build scores, some of which were outstanding.

“That said, some of the guys were a little disappointed when they came off, as they thought we could have gone on and scored a few more.

“I think that shows how far we have come as a group.”

Looking forward to Titans’ challenge at Dings Crusaders this weekend, Yapp added: “It's always nice to get the first win under our belt and we plan to have a big week in preparation for Dings away.

“We know they are always tough at their place, and our attitude in the build up to training this week and going into the game has to be spot on if we are going to win.”
