IN their third game in just seven days the Taunton Titans will tomorrow travel to Cambridge for a huge match as third place meets fifth in national league action.

The Somerset men will, however, be full of confidence after recording another fine home win over Clifton last weekend, their third victory in as many games.

Head Coach Tony Yapp said: “Cambridge are a very good side, and well coached. They have a good forwards pack and capable back line to boot.

“When you look at the games they’ve played this season they’re able to score through the middle, out wide, and also through a strong set piece. They’ll be a major challenge.

“The league table doesn’t lie, Cambridge sit in a position where they are challenging for promotion, and without a doubt there is a reason for that.

“I’m confident that we can cause Cambridge problems, but it will require a lot of concentration and accuracy in the right areas.”

Forwards Coach Chris Brown also outlined the challenge, saying: “It’s the type of challenge that we require in order for us to move forward and to bring the best out of us.

“We need to go to Cambridge with confidence. Our league form has been good recently and we’ve gone from strength to strength as the weeks have passed.

“The attitude of the players has been most pleasing. They’re young and they are keen to move on in a progressive fashion. For me that’s essential. We have to take the momentum and confidence of the last few weeks and build on it further.

“It’ll be a day of high intensity rugby. We’ve got to cope with the pressures of being away from home and understand that Cambridge will have their spells, but so too will we and we’ll need to ensure we are clinical and consistent.

“As a coach this is a great match to look forward to. We want to move up the table and this weekend represents a real opportunity for Tony and I to see where we need to be to successfully compete at the upper end of this league.”
