TAUNTON Titans will be aiming to keep their unbeaten home record intact when they entertain Southend Saxons this weekend.

Southend Saxons are renowned for being a dogged side who never give up - and with three draws this season already, will compete to the end and test the Titans’ resolve.

The Titans who will be trying to stamp their own authority on the game and attack the visitors from the off, after their long trip.

With five defeats on the bounce for Southend, Titans will be hoping to make it six for a side who have seen a recent dip in form, after a great start to the season.

Titans victory over Redingensians came at a cost last weekend, with a few players picking up injuries. With most of them hoping to be fit for selection, the one player missing will be hooker Alex Spurdle. After just breaking into the starting position, he dislocated his elbow and will miss the next four to six weeks.

But one person’s bad luck is another’s good fortune - Dan Frost who has played this season in the back-row will now compete for the hooker shirt with Jon Gatford and Paul Davis.

Frost is a product of North Petherton RFC and is currently with Bath Academy, and has been a great asset for the Titans so far this season, with his huge work rate and tenacious attitude.
