THREE weeks ago, Taunton Titans were preparing to put their unbeaten home record to the ultimate test when they were waiting for the visit of league leaders Cambridge.

However, the weather got the better that weekend and the game was cancelled and last weekend the Titans' home record went out the window as they lost to Chinnor.

The last time the Titans lost two in a row was November 2014 when they went down to Dorking at home, followed by Chinnor away.

However, you would have to go back to the 2012-2013 season for the last time the Titans lost two in a row at home, won a 40-57 thriller in November 2012; then, due to the floods and lots of cancelled games, lost their next home game in February 2013 against Hartpury 11-27.

So, if the current crop of Titans don’t want to re-write the record books for the wrong reasons, then a huge change of attitude and performance will be needed this weekend if they want to beat Cambridge who sit seven points clear at the top of the league.

The Titans will be hoping to get some of their injured players back and available for selection for this big game, but there will be doubts over back five forward Brett Harvey who came off in the defeat against Chinnor.

The Titans will still be without Joe Simmonds as he continues with England Under-20s as they take on Ireland on Friday night in their Six Nations.

The kick-off for the Cambridge game is 3pm, followed by the senior Six Nations fixture England v Ireland shown on the big screen in the clubhouse.
