TAUNTON Titans are gunning for a remarkable 10th win in a row as they welcome Henley Hawks to the Commsplus Stadium tomorrow.

Last weekend’s 43-33 victory at local rivals Clifton kept Tony Yapp’s men a point clear of Chinnor at the top of National 2 South, and they will be confident of more success this weekend against a side currently sitting eighth after an inconsistent start.

Henley were beaten 42-22 by Redruth last Saturday but had beaten Wimbledon 55-26 away from home the week before, and last season’s tight encounters between the Titans and the Hawks means the visitors are unlikely to be underestimated by the in-form hosts.

Taunton ran out 38-27 victors in the corresponding fixture at Hyde Park in 2016/17 and squeaked home by a single point in April’s away match, winning 25-24.

Tomorrow’s match will feature a visit by the town’s mayor, her consort and Rebecca Pow MP, as well as a presentation of an award to mark the club’s support for and commitment to the nation’s armed forces.

A military marching band and a climbing wall will also be present prior to the 3pm kick-off.
