Taunton Under-14s followed up last week’s County Cup Final victory with a tour to Cornwall.
Nineteen playing members made the trip and Taunton’s first match was against Penzance and Newlyn RFC.
The Cornish team certainly looked as if they would have a height and weight advantage in the forwards, however Taunton’s pack set about them with great gusto.
The Taunton lads put in a fine performance with a 52pts-nil victory with tries from Aiden Kerr (three), Oli Graham (two) Oli Johnson, Harry Crocker and Zack Tuff.
Conversions were added by Joshua Mynett (three), Tom Wilkinson (two) and Will Vaughan.
The bad weather curtailed Taunton’s tour when their match against Helston was washed out. But not even that could spoil the side’s achievements this season which has seen them undefeated in 21 club matches and county champions.
