MINEHEAD under-8s travelled to senior neighbours Bridgwater and Albion for their final outing of the season and were surprised to find a three-way meeting to include Welsh tourists Bridgend.
Not only did they come away victorious in both matches but they maintained their wonderful record of losing only one of their 36 matches - and that on the first day of the season to Wellington.
The first match against Bridgwater summed up the Minehead boys' season, with continuous turnover ball setting the hosts on their heels from the start.

All the players were terrific in their defensive duties, causing errors from the Bridgwater youngsters.
In particular Joe Barker and Joe Callaz continued their recent form with some good tagging, with Thomas Howard, Tommy Wyatt, Joseph Lintern and Robert Vickers all playing their part.
Ben Pye saved his best until last with his best attacking game of the season, scoring two tries - one after a long weaving run.
Howard, Lintern, Callaz and Robert Vickers all touched down with some fine attacking play.
The scored had reached six tries to nil early in the second half when the local referee stopped the game - within the rules - to save Bridgwater further humiliation.
This was again evidence of the strength of the away team.
Because of Minehead's numbers and the full switch of players at half-time, it meant half the team had hardly featured in the first game and therefore they started the second match against Bridgend an unknown quantity.
The Welsh side started impressively and the Minehead boys had to be on their mettle to keep them at bay.
Early exchanges left the score at 3-2 at half-time but the overall strength of Minehead finally quashed the opposition and in the end a comfortable win was achieved against a good team, with the final score at five tries to two.
It was no surprise four of the tries were shared by the season's top scorers - William Hawker and Archie Marsh.
And with the original seven coming on again at half-time, the other was by the ever impressive Wyatt.
Again there was good tagging by all the Minehead boys, which essentially set up both wins.
The man of the match was Ben Pye and the most improved player was Robert Vickers.
Praise should be given to coaches Brandwood and Phippen for their terrific work throughout the season and this very impressive group of youngsters should move into contact play next season with every confidence of continued success.
This season they won 32, drew three and lost one of their 36 games, scoring 314 tries and conceding 172.
