TAUNTON are in talks with two player-coaches with international experience as they seek a replacement for Danny Thomas.
The former Plymouth Albion flanker, who led Taunton to Somerset Cup glory earlier this month, has been forced to leave the club due to a neck injury.
The problem means Thomas, who was appointed player-coach last summer, will be unable to fulfil his playing duties at the club and has mutually agreed to have his
two-year contract terminated.
Taunton are now busy seeking a replacement.
Director of rugby Lee Waddon said: "We're already talking to three guys but we won't rush into a decision because we have to make sure we get the right man.
"Two fit the criteria perfectly and have international experience so it's about whether they want to come to a level six club, which we are.

"We are busy trying to sell ourselves to them. We are very ambitious and our aim is to get into the National League.
"It's a part-time role at the moment but if we can push on through the levels we hope to eventually make it full-time.
"If we had been promoted this year we may have been able to keep Danny just as a coach and brought in another player of his quality.
"But with the level we're playing at, our budget won't allow that and we need someone who can combine playing and coaching, which Danny totally understands."
Thomas, who last played in November, transformed the side from South-West Two (W) relegation strugglers to promotion candidates in the space of a season, although they have just missed out on going up.
Waddon was quick to pay tribute to Thomas.
He said: "Danny will be sorely missed by everyone at the club.
"He brought professional attitude to training and games and will be very hard to replace.
"He brought a professional attitude to the way we play our rugby, constantly bringing out the best in the squad."
Thomas' final game in charge of Taunton is this Saturday when they travel to play Yatton.
Wellington entertain Bideford in their final Cornwall and Devon League game, while Wiveliscombe are home to North Petherton in Somerset One.
