THE Captain's Charity fourball better-ball was held at Taunton and Pickeridge on Saturday.
A total of 72 pairs entered and scoring was excellent, with the warmer weather at last ensuring the course was in good condition.
The winners by two clear points were Brian Southward and Mark Popham on 43.

Second were Bruce Chadwick and Tony Biggs (41) ahead of Martyn Brown and Graham Adams (41), Martin Hammond and John Smith (40) and Craig and Ian McGown (40) on a day when the Captain's Charity benefitted to the tune of £144.
n The Terry Mockridge Trophy was played by the Pickeridge seniors on Thursday.
The greensomes competition is played in memory of the late club captain Terry Mockridge.
Mike Step and Ken Wilcox had 37 points to win ahead of Simon Pratt and John De Winton (36) and club captain Iain Robertson and Graham Dewick (35).
