STAPLEGROVE registered their first win of the season in tense circumstances as they defeated Ilton by one wicket on the last ball in Division One of the Somerset League at Manor Road.
The visitors batted first and reached a competitive 196-9 thanks largely to 52 from Joffy Williams, while Raj Shaffique chipped in with 31. Richard Rowe was 'Grove's most successful bowler, snapping up 4-48 from his 12 overs.
The hosts edged towards their target but lost wickets at regular intervals along the way and eventually got home on the last ball at 198-9.

The runs were mainly shared around, although Richard Rowe hit a powerful 38 and Dave Penny added 35.
Taunton CS Radiac and Outcasts went down by six wickets at relegated Westlands after a poor batting performance. Outcasts won the toss and batted, with openers Greg Jackson (51) and Pete Baker (40) putting on 102 for the first wicket.
Rico Weekes (26) and Dan Tottle (23) took the score to 160-2 but a dramatic collapse saw them all out for 175 with five overs left. For Westlands, Dave Musson snapped up 4-36.
The hosts were always in charge and eventually reached their target with more than three overs remaining. Their top scorer was Scott Ewens (63 not out), while Ian Hosken took 2-43 from 12 overs Outcasts.
Wellington slumped to a disappointing 12-run defeat in a low-scoring game away to promoted North Newton.
They looked to have got half the job done by dismissing the hosts for 179 after asking them to bat. Matt Daniel finished with fine figures of 4-9, while Rob Moysey took 2-46.
Wellington looked well on the way at 68-1 but that became 90-5 as Newton gained the initiative. Alex Sparks (32) and Thom Trott (28 not out) looked to be getting things back on track but the latter ran out of partners and Wellington fell agonisingly short.
In Division Two, Watchet secured their first win of the new campaign with a five-wicket defeat at home to Whitchurch. Dominic Bowden took three wickets as the visitors were bowled out for 137.
Philip Milton then scored 42 as Watchet reached their target with little difficulty.
Fitzhead suffered a heavy eight-wicket defeat at home to Burnham, after being bowled out for 110.
In the third division, Ashbrittle made it two wins from two after moving over from the West Somerset League, with a six-wicket victory away to Leigh-on-Mendip.
The hosts were restricted to 182-9 and Ash reached their target with Andy Hill making 61.
North Curry won by five wickets away to Hardington and West Coker who were bowled out for 129, with Phil Sharp taking 3-28. Captain Chris Golding then hit 41 not out as Curry got home for the loss of five batsmen.
A. Greasley hit 50 as Curry Rivel closed on 180-8 in persuit of Long Sutton's mammoth 256-6.
Bagborough suffered their second defeat in Division Four, going down by eight wickets at home to Brent Knoll. Mark Halliwell top scored with 48 as the hosts were bowled out for 138 and Knoll had little difficulty reaching their target.
A brilliant century from Craig Williams earned Taunton A an impressive seven-wicket victory at home to rivals Taunton St Andrew's A at Gipsy Lane.
The visitors batted first and made an impressive 245-8 with Mike Bradford (52), Sandy Rawle (59), and Phil Parsons (44) in the runs. However, Taunton reached their target for the loss of just three wickets, thanks mainly to Williams' rapid 147.
Taunton Deane Cavaliers made it to wins from two with a narrow two-wicket victory against Kilve at The Castle School.
Skipper John Ponte snapped up 3-34 as Kilve were restricted to 140-7. In reply, Deane's innings stuttered but they eventually reached their target, thanks mainly to an unbeaten 77 from Tony Keitch and 40 by Ponte.
Also in Division Five, Vince Milton hit 71 not out to help Sampford Arundel to a three-wicket victory at home to Spaxton.
A FINE unbeaten century from Matt Coleman was the highlight of Wellington 2nds' thumping 117-run victory at home to Glastonbury Lambs in Division One of the Somerset 2nd XI League.
Coleman hit 103 not out and Richard Henwood 55 as the hosts piled up 248-5 from their 45 overs. In reply, Glastonbury's 3rd string were bowled out for 131, Bob Trott taking 4-36 and Chris Rudd 3-3.
Staplegrove 2nds went down to a battling 26-run defeat away to Bridgwater 3rds. The hosts scored a hefty 255-5 batting first with Edward Berry smashing 125 not out.
'Grove made a valiant attempt to reach their target but were aLl out for 229 on the last ball. Runs were shared around, with Matt Dunn and Mark Taachi top scoring with 30 apiece.
Bishops Lydeard 2nds maintained their 100% record in Division Two with a six-wicket win at home to Cheddar 2nds. Graham Fitt and Jamie Street picked up three wickets as the visitors were bowled out for 164.
In reply, Lydeard lost some early wickets but Fitt's boundary-laden 77 helped them get home with 15 overs left.
Taunton St Andrew's B went down by 44 away to Belvedere 2nds in Division Two.
The Weston-super-Mare-based home side batted first and made 221-8 with T. Binn hitting 77. In reply, Saints were bowled out for 176 despite the efforts of J. Cross.
