SOMERSET are guaranteed another year in division one of the County Championship after Derbyshire were bowled out for 103 against Warwickshire this morning.

When the last round of championship matches got under way it was still mathematically possible for the Cidermen to be relegated along with the already-doomed Surrey.

For that to happen they needed to lose against Notts while Derbyshire beat Warwickshire with maximum bonus points.

But Derbyshire's demise has resolved any uncertainty while Somerset reached lunch on the third day at Trent Bridge on a healthy 281-4 in reply to 406.

James Hildreth is currently 152 not out.
