WITH the forecasters predicting little or no rain in Taunton until this evening, Somerset are hopeful they can get their CB40 game with the Scottish Saltires under way on time at 1.45pm.

The Cidermen have collected just one point from their first five matches and a win today is essential if they are to stay in the competition.

Despite their position at the bottom of the table Director of Cricket Brian Rose this week said the club was not giving up on the competition.

He told the Somerset CCC website: "We may have to win all our remaining group games to stand a chance of qualifying but it's not impossible."
