KORFBALL: Hill leads Taunton Soul to league victory

Taunton Soul comfortably beat a new team to the league in Exeter University with a 16-8 victory. By half time they were 8-3 up and they never looked back.

David Hill was Soul’s top scorer with six goals while others on target were Angela Hill (3), Ruth White (3), Ben Groves (2), Jess Ellis (2), S Allcock and G Carrillo.

The advantage could have been even greater if Soul had not missed several penalties.

Taunton’s 2nd team also won, although they got off to a slow start with some good shooting from the University giving the students a 2-5 lead at half time.

A second half come-back was led by Matt Hill’s three penalties and the match ended 9-5 to Taunton.

Other scorers were A. Pitman (1), J. Ellis (2), R. White (1), S Hall (1) and C Mckee (1).
