TAUNTON Titans are learning the hard reality that in National League rugby there are no easy games and so it proved in their 29pts-10 defeat with Canterbury away in Kent.

Despite scoring first with a Gary Kingdom penalty the Taunton men were unable to add to their account.

Canterbury grew in confidence to break Titans makeshift defence with three well-taken tries scored by Ruairi McLeod, Ricky Macintosh and hooker Tom Rogers.

Scott Brown added two conversions and a penalty to put the hosts into a commanding 23-3 half time lead.

Titans stuck at their task and put pressure on Canterbury with Prior, Gatford, Davis and Richardson going well in a determined Taunton Pack who made their presence felt.

To their credit Canterbury defended really well and resisted everything the Titans threw at them. When Canterbury's hooker Rodgers crashed over for his second try to put the result out of reach for the Taunton side.

Ben Turner continues to impress since his recall to the team scoring a consolation try for Taunton close to the end. Kingdom added the extras to complete the scoring 29-10 and a disappointing loss for Taunton.

Unavailable for selection in this game were Captain Jemba Bull, Mike Pope, Connor Hartley, Greg Turner, Will Carrick Smith and Chris Bentley arguably 30% of Titans strongest line up.

Added to this was specialist back row stars Joel Conlon and Jake Childs lining up in the backs to fill in for injuries and unavailable players.

Titans have a week off to regroup before the arrival of high flying Worthing Raiders at Hyde Park on Saturday, December 8, in a match that Taunton will certainly want to get something from.
