Taunton Deane Bowling Club’s ladies have stormed into the last eight of the prestigious Yetton Trophy for the first time after a first-rate win against Plymouth.
It was a tough match, but the squad took two rinks away and one at home to set them on course to meet Bournemouth in the quarter-finals of this national competition.
Scores: Chenda Harris, Elsie Berry, Sue Cridland and Di Routley lost 16-21; Sylvia Canterbury, Val Knott, Jean Dezille and Wendy Merchant won 22-20; Ruth Jones, Anne Beale, Pat Sully and Sue Evans won 19-18; Gloria Westlake, Gwen Allen, Joan Jenkins and Kirsty Hembrow won 24-13.
