TABLE TENNIS: Taunton premiership games prove so tight
TWO games produced the first draws of the season in the Taunton table tennis league’s Premiership.
Saints Raiders took on bottom club Saints Spinners with only two players and that cost them the win as they were held 18-18.
Slav Oleksiyevets picked up the only win of the night for Spinners, beating Colin Allsopp in straight sets.
Ark Tigers and Ark Angels played out the second tie of the week with what could be called the match of the season.
The teams were neck and neck all night and the match reached a fitting climax as the two unbeaten players on the night, John Crabtree and Mike Crook, faced each other.
Crook needed a three set win to get a draw and played superbly, never looking in doubt of losing any sets.
